Sorry another engine not starting thread, I've read loads but still can't get the bloody thing started.

as it stands it turns over and there's a spark on the plugs, I can also smell fuel after turning it over.

the car was running fine until I've fitted my group buy aircon deletion kit and KTR engine mounts, top and gearbox, and now wont start.

Its got a new cps sensor, the head lights aren't on the car and the immobiliser light goes out on the dash when the key is turned to the ready position. On the dash the lights are - battery, stop and hand brake which looks normal?

I've had the coil pack off and would like if possible for someone to confirm the plug positions on it , I've got them, starting from front right 1 then front left 2, then back left 3 and back right 4, also tried changing coil pack for a spare I had just to make sure but no change.

I'm at a loss, any help would be great, thanks.

Yes I did why?

the timing was checked and locked, then engine hand turned afterwards.

That's good, I had a horrible vision of it being air gunned off and back on, faulty cps? Did you change the wiring round? Is it even attempting to start?

I might have suspected the cps but I changed it for the upgraded one not so long ago and car was fine before a buggered around with it!

It did try to start the first time I turned it over, but after that its not firing at all.

You're gonna be guessing forever mate unless you can spot something obvious thats broken or not plugged in. Diagnostics should be the next step mate.

cheers everyone, was the simplest of things....the fuel cut off switch next to the battery had some how been triggered, all sorted now.
