Its That Time

So at the end of January its time for my insurance on the Clio 197.

This is a standard car all with genuine Renault parts and its a daily , When I say daily it still sits outside the house most of the time as work is now less than a mile from the house and I get a van most days / weekends.

I have been with green light for the last 10 years with all my cars but I have now slowly started to move away from them due to price & other things.
The renewal is due on either 27th or 28th Jan and im awaiting on my renewal pack from green light.

While looking through stuff I noticed that I have been insured with LV via green light so I went on a comparison site to see what was what and it just so happens that LV also come up.

What should I say to green light if they try and insure me with LV again but at a higher price than what LV do online ?

Here is what im getting with a named driver fully comp

There is much cheaper as you can see.
I don't need brake down cover as I already have that via my bank.

Is this a trick question?

If it's cheaper elsewhere, cancel with Greenlight and just go to whoever's cheapest.

Cheaper is not always better.

I would rather have a super service that's hassle free and pay that little extra and this is one of the reasons im leaving green light

Hi greenlight. Got a quote for £7.35, can you match it. No.

Seeee yaaaa

Will depend on other costs like excess, windscreen cover etc.

I was going go say, you'll pribably get better service from a company like Aviva than Greenlight anyway 😂

Neil is great when you call greenlight, I didnt have great experiences talking to their other staff members when my policy came round to renewal before.
Been with flux for 2 years and theyve been the cheapest. Their renewal was even lower than anywhere else!

Im with Flux and I spoke to @DAN@ADRIAN FLUX who helped me sort out my trophy.

I might give them a try and see what's what
100%. Greenlight just want to get you off the phone, really come across quite arrogant and abrupt so I went elsewhere.

I 100% agree with you. . . . . Not had the best phone conversations with green light

Theres an independent site that gives you star ratings for the companies brokers use. Always worth a check, I cant remember what it's called now!

Just got my renewal through from green light at £296 for the year.

Think I will be leaving them.

Conning b******s!!
As said above they are a very ignorant and arrogant company don't seem to give a s**t about getting your buisiness or not god knows what they would be like if you had to claim!

With Aviva I have everything I need & more if I want it.

Fully comp for me and my wife parked on street with everything ticket except breakdown cover (Have this via bank) and everything declared it still only coming in at £180 for the year.

I would much rather pay the £180 a year and save myself £116 than give it to green light.

Greenlight also state that its "Highway Insurance" but yet when you got to there website it takes you to LV and going with LV direct is still cheaper at £267 a year but yet im trying to be fleeced for £296.

Greenlight will go out of business if they carry on

Don't insure BMW's, they refused me because I live in Bradford (fair enough tbh) and their customer service is absolutely horseshite. Neil is the ONLY person there that has more than 16 braincells and knows what a car is

I don't mind paying good money for very good service and I mean service that cant be faulted in anyway but like I have said green light just don't care.

For a standard 197 that potters around and does a under 3000 miles a year and does nothing im not getting my pant pulled down.

I will give them a call and this will now mean I have went from 4 cars with Greenlight down to none.

I tried contacting them around insuring my clio. Didn’t call me...so I just though f**k em. In the end I’m bought my Policy through Admiral multi car. I have no NCB, 39 year old insuring my E Class estate and Clio 182 all mods declared £550 a year! Which I thought was pretty good.

I was with Greenlight for about 3 years and dealt with Neil, he was always decent to talk to. He even increased my annual mileage one year FOC.

This year Admiral came up cheap with all mods declared, only paying about £230 for the year so jumped ship.

My meganes insurance is due next week... Greenlight so far are beating everyone hands down, renewal is £269. A quick meerkat compare gives me the following prices... 😂

Ultimately insurance is as individual as the person getting the quote.
Personally I’ve never had a bad call to Greenlight and I’ve had many policies with them over the years. The last few they’ve been the cheapest by quite a margin. I’ve heard horror stories about Adrian Flux but unfortunately they’re my only option for my Clio. However *touch wood* I’ve never had an issue with them either.

Greenlight insure with Highway (part of LV, not LV directly). So dont know how that would go for/against you.
