There doesnt seem to be much imagination between the cars on here, they're all spot on and pristine but if it aint on turins and lowered with the odd sticker then its standard and that seems to be as far as it goes...

Is that a fair comment? Or are there some quite unique Clio's on here? Im mainly on about Clio Sports as ive been looking and looking and its all pretty much the same cars with a few different splashes of colour.

Not a criticism btw, just an observation :rasp:

There are people doing all sorts of different things but the hardcore stick to tried and tested formulas. What people choose is regarded to be the best possible set up. Turini's because they're lightweight and came with the Trophy, Yozza exhausts because they're regarded as the best fit and sound (generally) etc... so there's normally reason why people tend to stick to what's been tried and known to work/look great.

So are Yozza the best sounding then? I was thinking of going Milltek myself..

I'm after a nice raspy sound

Checkout the project section of the forum. You will find all sorts of work being done to Clios from track cars, to euro look etc.

Mine's rolling on 24" chrome spinners.

lol, weren't getting at that sort of thing, just meant there isn't many people venturing off the beaten track, I think some of it is down to the Clio's lack of aftermarket manufacturers, like they have K-tec but from what i've seen they churn out mostly sh1te, where as say Vauxhall owners have Irmscher, Steinmetz.. Etc...

The reason people keep it the same is it looks good...

This can happen trying to be 'different'...

Aye there's always disasters, the front of a clio sport is obviously alot lower than the rest of the car aswell so it prob a b**ch to make anything flow?

I think much of it is down to taste. I have researched exhaust systems a lot on here and listened to many of them on youtube. The Yozza system made the best sound for me (182) so once I have enough beer tokens that will be what I shall purchase!

There are some different cars on here, be it with a performance image, a theme'd look or a showroom look.

The problem is when people get creative and do things to their cars just to be different. Thats when 9/10 times they just look shite!

You've got to remember that CS is only a community, chances of seeing another member at the other end of the country with the same mods is slim to none. (Other than at a show)

I personally love the std look of all the renault sport ranges, they don't need mod's to make them look good. I'm not against lowered and performance mods at all, i've been there and done it also.

It's your car at the end of the day, if you like it; good, but be prepared for others not to!

I think most people tend to purchase them as drivers cars, so big wheels and silly paint jobs are pretty low on the list of priorities.
And I don't have Turini's ;)

Dont need to be big wheels and silly paint, but there are better looking performance multi-spokes out there than Turini's imo but seems like 'Thats what Im suppose to have, the boys on clio sport said so...'

Anyways, im brand new to the Clio scene so I might just be missing a trick

What wheels you put on bud?

Well if you have been on this forum for a long time then you would have seen a lot of heavily modded clio's come through here aswell as nice clean mods like you stated.

There are quite alot of different cars on cs but most of the ones that get posted are standard.I like have the only car in the country so i made a white 172 rep with my first car and now i have a 172 thats been sprayed white.

Not talking about heavily modded, just different ideas and styles, like this guy below...

Pro race 1.2's, cheap and light!

Changing wheels is modifying, as is zausts, lowering, anything... :dead:

You're all mistaking me for some max power head, it wasn't my point, was just saying there isn't much variety, not saying thats a bad thing, just saying there isnt much of it!

@182kev, yeh mate i've seen in a few threads where peops prefer yozza and miltek has fitting issues? Nobody ever gone to Powerflow for a 182 system? They manufacture the systems to how you want them to sound, just unsure if they'd do a 182 though as obviously it aint your average system.

When people post pictures of a 'different' car, there's a thin line between decent and s**t. When something that's decent and we haven't seen before is posted, most people are a fan of it. Just because it's different doesn't mean it looks good.

The reason I have a standard looking car is beacause most people on the roads think its just a normal clio 1.2, 1.4, 1.6 etc.

Its had a few bits done to it, Springs, Brakes, Zorst, Inlets Matched,
rear seats gone, and a rear strut brace, so its a fair bit quicker than
standard.

Ive recently de-badged it and i'm loving having the
beginnigs of a sleeper, embaresing much more expensive
cars is becoming quite addictive.

I think alot of people share the philosophy less is more.

Id say I had an above average imagination, as do many of the other project section regulars

  200 Gordini
As said, people go with what is the best they can buy for the budget they have.

Lets say you want to mod your car and you have a budget in mind, you will research somewhere that knows the car and has experience with the mods (for example ClioSport.net) you will then realize what is best and will then purchase these items.

This is an owners club and 99.9% of us wont like ruining or putting the wrong modifications on our cars. We obviously care about the car otherwise we wouldn't be here.

If you want 'different' then visit my college car park between 9am and 6pm.

Agreed, Jay.

The project section contains most of the "different" cars. Most in there are "modified" for motorsport/tracks so not a great deal of cosmetics.

As everyone has said, CS is more about liking the RS models how they are and how they drive.

Head to cruizing sites for mods this is a owners club

^ I reckon your right there. Either very close to stock or full on strippage no holds bar'd ruined. Imo the only options
