I've done this in the past when mine gave up the ghost. Absolute ball ache if you accidentally stall somewhere. Any idea what's up with it? I'm an expert on this after the on going saga I had with mine before I had it replaced with the proper part by someone that know what they're doing haha.Had an issue with my starter motor not working again at Donnington on Friday. Will try and get it sorted before Sunday as I don't want to have to keep bump-starting the car 😂
Any info/help would be greatly appreciated.I've done this in the past when mine gave up the ghost. Absolute ball ache if you accidentally stall somewhere. Any idea what's up with it? Exactly the same as what was happening with mine mate. And once the heat shield is fitted you can't get your hand down the back of the engine to get the connection back on yourself. I did temporarily fix mine by removing the washer from behind the spade connector on the starter motor because it turned out that when it was vibrating it was rotating round and shaking it off.Any info/help would be greatly appreciated.
Basically at Oulton park it first happened, id turn the key, then nothing. Got it home, found that it had a loose connection where the spade connector goes onto the starter motor, so pushed it back on and it fired up first time. So to be safe, I took it to Birchdown and said could you improve the connection so it doesnt happen again. I also sourced a starter motor heat shield as it was missing one. They fitted a new connection, and the heat shield, then at Donny on Friday, got to mid-morning then the same thing happened again!
Birchdown did say that they had noticed that it wasnt a genuine starter motor, so could be to do with that? But it seems strange that its the exact same symptoms before with the loose connector. So now Im not sure how to improve the connection! Should I try a genuine renault starter? Or look to have the connection improved by getting it soldered on or something?
@Red Cup for managing the route? Local knowledge and all.Right, sorry for the delay! I've had a few issues with the 200, all of them my fault. 😧
Long story short, I ordered the wrong rear discs so they couldn't be fitted with the rest of my service/belts. Then on the drive home from the service, they started to bind. :nomouth: Cool. The earliest I could book in at my specialist is the 5th July.
So. Two options.
1. Someone else assumes the management of the meet and convoys etc. Ideally someone with knowledge of the route.
2. We delay a month until early August. I'm on holiday for 2/3 of July.
I'm fine with either option. Apologies again for the c*ck-up!
Carry on with this one and also plan another?Right, sorry for the delay! I've had a few issues with the 200, all of them my fault. 😧

anyone fancy organising a drive down from the north west somewhere?Awesome, shall we do what @Red Cup said then? Get to Ponderosa and go from there?
@Christopher there's a free seat in mine if you're stuck.
Yeah yeah! The original plan for this was to meet at Costco/KK's at Trafford park. I'm game to do the same thing, no reason why not.anyone fancy organising a drive down from the north west somewhere?

Also is there no way you could get a set sooner and get them fitted yourself? You're local to Bolton aren't you? I can lend a hand if needs be I guess it's just a disk issue?

Don't say that the more the merrier! Ha
Can you guys swing by Chester Services again please? Just let me know the time and I'll be there
According to AA route planner
So if we set off from Trafford at say 8am we'd be there for like 8.30ish, upto everyone else who turns up like but if we were to meet at Trafford for 7.30 and leave for 8 we'd be at Bala for like 9.50am ? Just matches the times on the original post ?
