Just a quickie - sticking throttle

  53 Clio's & counting
Iv made a guide which i think will solve all ph1 sticking throttle issues, there have been many tries and fixing this, and iv put alot of thought into what could be causing it, and thanks to spare t/body iv got iv been able to try a few things out. iv covereed 500 miles now and mine is still spot on,no more sticking revs, alot smoother coming on and off throttle, and drops cleanly down to idle, no slow drop of revs, all in all a very big improvement.

Note- this is completely different from cleaning a throttle body, even a spotless body could still have these problems

have a look, and let me know if anyone wants to ask any questions

( i hope mods don't mind me posting this, i just really want to make ph1 owners aware of this :) )

Awesome.

I just cleaned mine out and rubbed a bit of wet and dry over anywhere that was catching slightly.

Do you need to replace the gasket when you take it off?

If its the original gasket then yes i would, as they tend to full to pieces when you try to peel them off

I cleaned mine up a year ago, when I changed the throttle cable.

Using pretty much the same method.. the car was a lot more smoother after and no more juddering at low rpm!

Good write up Russ.
