took me 2 mins to set it up

now just need my sound system to arrive next week (tv's speakers are by no means crap though so not too fussed!)

loving it :D

thats playing on it.. seems alright.

but then i dont know much about DVD players.. it plays everything though so thats all that matters.. allthough my xbox does that anyway.

thats playign through the DVD player on the 1080i setting through HDMI

remote is s**t on it though.. has a right crap range/angle.. might be better when i remove the protective film off the front of the player though. ha

put it into 720p on the DVD player, the menu wasnt quite as sharp, not sure if there is a noticeable diff in the picture between 720p and 1080i.. i think there is slightly..

I was thinking the same. It should do because it's a 37 incher... yet it doesn't somehow.

Mines going to look wicked hanging on my wall. :approve:

Maybe they sent him the 32" that's why he got his before Clart. lol.

I remember when my 32" Sony CRT was about as big as it got. I paid 1200 for the fucker. lol.

I dont understand why you have spent so much on the telly and bought a relatively poor dvd player?

tbh there is f**k all in it between dvd players these days unless you spend a hell of a lot of and i dont think 900 is that much on a tv

Eaxctly. And for £40... It's not the end of the world if it's shite!

It plays just about everything too. DivX, mpegs... even has a memoy card slot in the front for viewing pictures, plus it comes with a scart and an HDMi cable in the box!! Can't grumble really!!

the DVD does its job until proper full HD is available.

it doesnt actually look that big in the pics for some reason..

but if you compare it to the laptop screen at the side of it (15.4 inch)..

it brings it into perspective!

yeah its in my bedroom till i buy a house (but id have to sell car to do that). its like a cinema.

Very nice Guy :D Quality looks very good, however, you shouldnt leave p**n on your desktop, may I suggest a folder labelled SMUT?

nice mate. btw, theres not point using ur £50 HDMI cable. they are digital signals, no degredation so they either they work or they dont.

good point clart.. theyre just 1's and 0's.

it was only about 30 though. oh well.. i can sound cool ;)

same with buying an expensive coaxial cable too.. lol oh well

I've tried to point this out in the past to a friend of mine who thinks he needs to spend £80 on an optical or HDMI cable in order to get the best quality possible :D

technically not completely true.

yes in affect its just ones and zeros but interference can still change what gets received from say a one to a zero

do you have sky ? you know when the picture breaks up thats what im talking about.

also the quality has a big part to play in how long the cable can be and the speeds it can do.

analogue sources are still the best things to spend money on cabling for tho

Yes digital is just 1's and 0's, but the cable does degrade this signal, by loosing the occasional number etc. This means that the error correction systems inside your electronics have to try and reconstruct this signal and the worse the cable you are using the more work the error correction has to do. Now the more work the error correction is having to do, means the final output quality will be lower. Therefore there are benefits to using a better quality cable, especially so over longer runs.
