picked her up on wednesday night. what a car! i love it. having had a clio 16v brand new a few years back and then a 172 cup for a year and a half i have to be honest and say the williams is the best of the lot, just handles so much better than the cup. it has covered 47000mls and is immaculate with full renault and r-sport service history and it has a hill power stage one conversion which is a chip, induction kit, and a de cat and it also has a full magnex. it sounds amazing!! will get pictures up soon, i believe there are a few pics of it in the for sale section page 4 or 5 as i bought it through the club.

thats quite impressive that an old car can be better than a new one, it seems a trend of recent that people prefer older cars than newer ones.

Ive had a 16V, Williams and now a 172 Ph2. All great cars - I got a lot of perspective on our little "debates" over which is the best when taking time out from Clio ownership with a Fiat Coupe 20V Turbo.

Frankly, my 172 is just as good as I remember my Williams being - the big difference is that its more comfortable, doesnt need TLC to make/keep it mint and my other half will drive it. :)confused:)

For most people, the choice of owning an older car as their day-to-day transport in all weathers and for all mileages isnt really there. I loved my Willy, but I couldnt keep it forever in the pristine state it deserved to be in.

Its not like were talking about Golf GTis here either, where the later (bar Mk5) ones were clearly big steps back over the previous models.

So - enjoy the different models, sample them all if you can (Im getting there)... and remember that some of our squabbles seem very small-minded! ;)

its definatly my favourite out of the lot so far, imo looks much nicer than the new shape clios and turns more heads, especially when im nailing it, and it is definatly a better handling car than the cup was. anyway im not trying to start any arguments as to what is the better car just giving my honest opinion, renault must be doing something right as this is my third clio.
