Just got my new matts :(

  The Bus and MRT

I just got my matts through from autostyle on friday, fitted them in the car and They look really good.

The only problem is, I went for a drive only to find that they stop me from putting the accelerator all the way down! I have a 172 Mk2 and the accelerator should have a kickdown bit, where you press harder on the pedal and it goes a little further (I think this is to help with the piss poor traction in the wet) but the kick down bit is completely blocked off which leaves me with no choice but to cut a huge hole in my £100, waste of money, matts.... Ill try and post some pictures in a bit.

Has anyone else got these autostyle matts(premium ones) and a 172 mk2??

the button type thing under the accelerator is for automatic cars as far as I know.....nowt to do with traction.....

Are you talking about the plastic stopper that the pedal hits when Its fully down? Or they extra bit of throttle (it is called kick down in a automatic, I think it drops an automatic car down a gear) you get when you press harder on the accelerator?

I *think* the "kickdown" is also used for Cruise Control.. if its set to 60 say, and you click down on that.. you get control of ya car again incase you have to accelerate away quickly..

As Daz sats, the button is for overriding the Cruise Control if you really need to e.g. emergency. Its in the manual.

Theres no extra power from pressing it past the "kickdown" point as you describe it.

I cant believe no one uses the search :( Its been discussed SOOOO many times!
