Just phoned up 2 of my local Renault Dealers to enquire about a 72K Service and i have s**t a brick!!

Bristos Renault quoted £994.03p (originally £1211.44)

And Rawlinson Renault Qouted £390.70p for the Service plus £786.91p on top of that for the Cambelt!! So £1357.61p!

Jog on!!

Any of my fellow East Anglians used any independents that have been reasonably priced/good service etc??

Renault quoted me £1200 just to do the cambelt on my car, they wanted £400 on top for the water pump too:dapprove:

Go to Rentech, make a day of it. I went there from Banbury, did a bit of shopping, had some lunch and went to the cinema.

Richy, i just had some work done by Brooklands Garage in Ipswich! Think the labour rate was £37 a hour, cannot fault them at all!

you should budget upto £1K for a FULL 72k service, just incase something outside of the normal service is wrong

engine mounts "could be" dead
plugs need doing (£50 for the plugs)


i had a 172 cup come in once, it needed box rebuild, new clutch, full set of engine mounts, 2 new driveshafts, brakes all round plus all the other stuff

You get a good price, and the knowledge that what you've been charged for has been done, very well.
