K&N Air Filter making tapping sound

I've just turned my engine on to test my amp (unrelated fault a couple of threads down), and I've noticed a tapping sound coming from my K&N air filter. It sounds just like water dropping into an empty bucket, and is coming from the end of the filter (the bit that is cleaned/oiled etc).

Any ideas what this is? I cleaned & oiled the filter 3 days ago.

Maybe used too much oil?

I don't think so, this is the 2nd time I've oiled it, and I used a similar amount of oil last time.
