K & N induction kit

Any 1 got a K & N, im getting one on thursday 4 my 1.2 dynamique.

Just like 2 know if they make much difference?

Does any1 also know any gud sites where i can find some sideskirts?
 


Dan, can u keep me posted on wot its like plz i wan get an induction kit asap but not sure wot to get! would like ppls views who got same engine as me.

Also, u got a part number for it? cant find a K&N to fit it.

DONT DO IT!!!!

I did this just a few weeks ago and I am now trying to decide whether I put the standard airbox back on.

1) it HAMMERS performance and when I say hammer I mean REALLY HAMMERS it. Couldnt believe how noticeable the DROP in performance really was!!

2) It completely fecks up the idle, mine now idles at about 400rpm!!!!!!! and its a bit lumpy too not good!!

but.......3) IT SOUNDS FANTASTIC!!!!


Now I have aircon so cant use the K-tec relocation pipe, maybe that will make a big difference I dont know! I wanted the noise the grrr and the roar which i have but I didnt expect to take such a drop in performance.

I will defintely be refitting the standard airbox on for service time to avoid any...your cars idling like sh1t comments from renault etc etc

surely the aircon drains the power??

both k&Ns ive had have increased throttle responses quite bit, on 75bhp punto and my 1.6 clio.

idling on them is goin to be worse cos its an induction kits which needs air pushed into it, i find best thing to do especially in traffic is give it quick blasts in first gear, gets cold air in and helps the idling.
 


failing that, just try a panel filter... Ive just ordered a K & N for my 1.2 Clio as I want to see theyre any good... Ive heard a lot of good reports about them.
 


I had one on my old 1.2 8v clio. did not notice any difference in power at all (increase or descrease) but the sound was amazing.

Defo sounds like theres a bigger engine under there.

Ive still got my old one if anyone wants it as ive no need for it now. Done about 3k miles, ill just check ive got all the bits. if anyone wants it make an offer.
 


Ive got a K&N induction kit on my Cliosport.....and youre right it does sound fantastic. It also most certainly increases throttle response, but does cause one to burn petrol like its going out of fashion! That said, it is probably because Im constantly at 5000 rpm listening to that roar!

does the K & N come with a cold air feed??? coz if not, it may just sucking the hot air coming from the engline.... then causing the decrease in performance??
 


It does come with a hose to place close to the filter...Ive just used the two that were with the original...that said Im seriously considering just taking it off...placing the original back on and getting a better filter.
 


Well im going for the PiperX and the relocation kit from KTEC.
Anyone got those fitted to a 1.2?

Regarding the K & N, My mate has got one and it sounds great but he did not comment on performance.
 


before i crashed my old clio :( (1.2 8v) i was gonna get rid of my k&n and go for the viper 1.2 model. Its the only induction kit what will prob make a difference to a 1.2.



Just expensive thats all!
 


So i can get an induction for my 8v then? i been looking and can only find ones for 16v!

Any1 got any other suggestions apart from K&N??

off we go again the old induction kit dibate,

ive got one one my cup, spot on, loud as hell, works well, mates got a 1.4 and it cuts out and lights on the dash, so he took it off and the lights went out,

mate if you want it give one a go, ive had em on a few cars and they were fine, other people have had problems but YOU will never know till you try it.

I would be very very interested to hear of other people putting one onto a 1.2 16v. Yes it comes with a cold air feed which I have quite close to the filter.

At the moment the air con is very rarely on cos I dont need it and even last summer I could never notice a difference whether it was on or off. Certainly nothing like the difference the induction kit made in terms of stripping the car of power.

I have the diet engine 1.2 8v and fitted a fiat chinquicento (who knows the speeling lol!!!) K&N to mine, and the results are....

1. I use alot of petrol

2. I have a huuuuuuuuge space at the back of my engine now

3. I have one cold air feed

4. I notice no added performance whatsoever

5. It sounds the dogs bollox

So make up your mind from that? Im actually thinking of taking it off and replacing it with the std one, as i does do your head in after a while, lol!!!

I dont have an exhaust either, god im getting old!!!
