Mate. ive had the same sorta problem for ages. Not sure if its directly due to the k&n though. What i do is turn it over, and rev it a little, not to much, just to get my baby warmer. Then it should run smoothly as normal!

hi mate, you sure everythin on the K&N was hooked up properly, the breather hose ?

its it just a bolt on, or is it one of the 57i kits?

Just wondering as it might be sucking in too much cold air when first starting to will be jerky as hell (i think) and then when its warm it will be sucking in lots of warm air causing the loss of power.

this aint directly related to the k&n, but, on a cold start, an engine uses the airbox to do something with the air its getting for cold starting. My mates 206, which used to have a drilled airbox, would cough, splutter and stall on a cold start due to the airbox not being able to provide a good enough suppy of sealed in air. With the induction kit being open-air it has no box to hold a specific desired amount of air inside.

i know what i mean anyways lol, just a view from a previous experience.

Does one of the air feed pipes come from the exhaust manifold area? If so there is probably a flap valve or somit that opens this pipe when the engine is cold to draw in warmer air. When the engine heats up the flap will close this pipe and draw air from the other cold feed pipe. Not sure but worth checking out. If you bolt on a K&N or drill your standard air box you will be drawing cold air on a cold start which may explain the spluttering until heated up and loose power when heated up due to drawing hot air? the opposite from what it should be doing!
