K-tec code readers -ANY GOOD?

These plug in to the ecu?
would they work on the mk2 ph1 1.4rt?
as my old mans car is playin up,revin weird etc
 
they go into the diagnostic plug,if its an obd2 system itll work and with it being mk2 i would say so but it doesnt read all codes unlike the renault system

That's the one I've got. Paid a lot less than what K-Tec are charging.

It did make me laugh when they put these into stock after I posted about it last year.
 
Do these only show errors which cause a dash light ? or would anything else logged come up too ?

They show other stuff which doesn't cause a dash light to come up but obviously they won;t go into as much detail as a renualt system
 
ive got 1 wipe's my decat light off ive tryed it on a few cars only worked on my 182 ma dad's honda jazz and ma mate ctr

was it the K-tec one? iv also looked into buyin one of them RSTUNER ones, wat u rekon? im pritty handy on the laptop but i havent got a clue about mapping cars.
