K-tec code readers -ANY GOOD?

thinking of buying one cos im fed up of my mate coming around with his machine. will it tell you all the codes etc?

would they work on the mk2 ph1 1.4rt?
as my old mans car is playin up,revin weird etc

Underneath the ashtray, it just slides out.

That's the one I've got. Paid a lot less than what K-Tec are charging.

It did make me laugh when they put these into stock after I posted about it last year.

They show other stuff which doesn't cause a dash light to come up but obviously they won;t go into as much detail as a renualt system

i think the kit (RS tuner) also reads faults. AND makes your car GO

was it the K-tec one? iv also looked into buyin one of them RSTUNER ones, wat u rekon? im pritty handy on the laptop but i havent got a clue about mapping cars.
