Karcher jet wash problems

  182
Hi guys,

I have 2 problems with this,

The first being the hose has finally worked a slit into it meaning when turned on the water squirts out and the gun becomes useless. It looks like the full hose/gun are one piece so will need to replace the full part, does this sound likely? I would have though the hose would of been separate from the gun part.

The other problem is that when turned on, it makes a pulsing sound, the noise is on/ off on/ off, then when spraying the sound stops completely. Im sure this isn't normal but not sure what it could be.

Karcher 411 A is the model

Any advice from you lot in the know would be greatly appreciated.

I'm sure my mate mentioned that a new hose is £50 ish. So unless your local pirtek is cheaper unlucky.

as for the pulsing, its probably due to the hole in the hose lol. Fix one thing first

No, its been doing it a long time before the hole in the hose. Im sure the light in the garage was dimming too when the wash was turned on and making the pulsing sound, not even sure it sounds safe tbh.

Check your water feed then. Otherwise all I can suggest is theres an issue with the machine. They're all sealed units too so no real way of determining the issue

I thought the pulsing noise would be the pump maintaining the pressure as it isn't being released then soon as you use it it goes ?

Mine does the pulsing thing when I've used it for a long time. Always assumed it was to prevent it overheating.

The pump is starting to fail. Eventually it will make the "on" pulse sound constantly and spew water out the bottom. If its in warranty take it back. If not, never buy Karcher again and buy a reconditioned Nilfisk.

Sadly, the "lowly" models are of such poor build quality it's just not worth buying new. I have always said buy Nilfisk as they have metal impellers but even our 18 month old Nilfisk cocked up a few weekends ago. Luckily it has a two year warranty.
