Key problem

I sat in my car for 21 minutes today trying to turn off the bloody imobiliser (sp). Eventually the thing turned off and i was able to drive home. Whats going on with this? when i got home i tried my spare key and it worked fine time and time again, but the other key only works 20% of the time.

the people in the car park must have thought i was trying to steal the car or somethin!! Anyone shed any light on this?

nah swapped the batteries over with my spare and the spare still worked and key 1 still didnt! it unlocks the car fine with the remote thingy but just dont turn the immobiliser off!

how much did it cost ya for reno to sort it? at least i can get in my car, it just wont start... immobiliser light just flashes really really fast at me.

yes will be warranty and it will be a faulty transponder chip in the key head. get a new key under warranty.

i have a similar problem, my car doesnt recognise my key most of the time. the whole weekend it hasnt started then started this morning after ten minutes of messing about.

is it worth changing the battery in the key first?.
