Key stuck in ignition barrel

Key stuck in ignition barrel can't turn to first position or off position to key out ?

Try squinting some wd40 and jiggling key while trying to turn it

This happened to me recently, ended up having to drill out the tabs from underneath which meant it could at least turn but still wouldn't come out. Picked up a new barrel and key from renparts

Happened to me last month, took barrel out, thought it might be the switch at the back, so got a new switch, tried that and nothing, so eventually got a new barrel for about a tenner off eBay with the key. Overall cost me about 15 quid to fix. Only thing is I now have two keys, one for ignition, one for locks and petrol cap. Was wondering tho is it possible to repair a ignition barrel??
