Knocking/Juddering under hard cornering

  Saab 93 Aero Wagon
Have had this noise for ages but today it really was obvious.

Was doing a "test" type cone slalom at a big Mini meet at Dunsfold Aerodrome, lots of sharp, tight cornering with lots of lock on and the knocking is basically coming from the unloaded front wheel whether turning right or left, but its mainly the O/S Front and im pretty sure its coming from the suspension.

For ages ive suspected engine mount, but now im thinking something like lower balljoint...or worse, a CV joint.:(

Can anyone else give me their imput? Does this sound like the most likely culprit?

I think i have similar problem when cornering fast to the left. I don't know whether it was because of a few factors - too much tyre gel applied 1hr beforehand, sh*t roads with dodgy camber. It felt like understeer, yet the steering felt juddery. I'm paranoid about the car atm anyway, but has just had 36k service/mot/alternator/o2 sensor in the last 2 months. I also get the knockin noise when booting it, so im under the car in the morning seeing if it's the heatshield.

Also fitted the strut top washers today and feels a lot better. Mine was so bad at just going over the raised surfaces at petrol stations, would bounce all over with steering feeling loose (hard to explain).

Sounds obvious but i'd start with the cheaper things first, probably check mounts, loads of posts on it on here, but don't read up too much or you will feel paranoid lol
