Knocking noise Drivers side rear

H

HickiN

Morning,

Had a bit of a school boy error at the weekend... I was taking off the wheels to give them a good scrub (absolutely minging from KH on saturday!)....

I had the locking nuts/wheel nuts removed on both sides of the rear. I then replaced them on the passenger side forgetting to replace the drivers side (dont ask how, i dont know either).... I let down the jack a little too quick and heard a bang.... only to find that the drivers side rear wheel hanging off and the disc had hit the inside of the wheel pretty quick with a big impact..

Anyway - I now have a knocking type noise coming from the rear of the car.... any ideas?

Could this be a warped disc from impact? Shocks? Suspension? (or a mutlitude of erros??)

Cheers

just been onto evans halshaw in aberdeen.... they dont have any apointments for the next few months....

I have only owned the car since 8th January.... I am meant to be driving to Newcastle (270 miles) on friday night for a week off work at home! Is this grounds to make a complaint that its under warrenty and they wont see me?

Of course, i wont tell them how i actually did the damage...?

  E46 320D Tourer!
Could be a cracked warped disc. Dangerous if it splits in half whilst driving. Or you could have damaged the alloy from the impact.

I'd get to one of the renault specialists on here to get it checked out asap.

Nah Alloy looks fine.

I'll have to pay to get it seen i guess... really need renault to look at it but they claim they are too busy! I didnt take extended warrenty for them to be busy all of the friggin time!!

id say bent disk. Jack up that corner of the car (with it in gear and with chub blocks), release the handbrake and sping the wheel by hand, you should soon see whats hitting what.

Ok, will do that when i get in the house tonight from work and update.....

If it is a bent disk... just a case of replacing the disc? or could it have caused further damage?
