knocking noise on steering

any one know what the knocking/clicking noise is when i turn sharply to the right, i can feel it through the wheel too?

It is THE most common problem with clios - its a bloody joke!!!! although i cant remember what the specific reason for it is - sure someone on here does though mate

My saxo made a clonking noise when I turned, it needed a new front wishbone.

rack might just need tightening. fixed mine nicely

Yep they grind a bit of material off the top mount area.

I think I had the similar problem. My case is - it just happen at slow speed + turn (just sometimes, not often), the knocking noise comes when I am turning. Or when I go downhill, brake and turn. Maybe when all force go to the front. Or when something suddenly really bumpy.

How much does it cost for part of top mount??? And do I have to change the whole unit??? Or the part that got grind only??

Most important, how do I check if it is the top mount problem???

no need for grinding of the top mount , i had the same problem ,loud knock/bang when turning right on full lock ,,, remove the top mount with a long reach socket put some copper grease on the bit you have removed and re-fit . that sorted mine out no problems .
