Koni Sport Adjustable Suspension

I'm currently considering 3 options regarding the suspeinsion for my Cup.

1. I've got 2 standard nearly new front shockers in the garage, so I'm thinking of getting some Sportlines and fitting them.

2. Upgrade to koni front shockers (£250) and then fit sportlines and keep standard rear dampers.

3. The full Koni kit http://www.larkspeed.com/index.pl?p=261795&a=i

Has anyone got the full Koni kit fitted, what are the springs like compared to Eibachs?

I have Konis all round and cant really comment on what they are like compared to Eibachs as went from stand 172 springs to cup springs then the Konis..

I can say though that the car handles great and rides very well even on the crap roads around here, they are also pretty good on track as well!

I can't recommend them enough though for the price, would definately choose them over any cheap coilovers epecially!

I do however have some topmounts, and rear arb to fit so hopefully will be even better!

Cheers Jamie, have you got the full kit or just the springs? Any pics of them fitted?

The full kit, I was tempted to try them with eibach springs before I fitted them after reading a few comments on here.. But i'm not fussed now they are a softer ride than an FN2 Civic put it that way!

Ermm dont think I have any pics of it, just some on track which obviously shows it with bodyroll so not a good idea for ride height!

I think I may just go for the full kit then, seems good value. If the drop is similar to Sportlines i would be happy. I'm running 6 year old Apex springs at the minute and they are pretty awful.

as said, running different shocks front and rear will ruin the handling!

koni adjustables are epic shocks if you have them all round!

i had koni adjustables on my mk1 16v, probably the best handling car i have ever had, yet to see how the cup compares when on track

Cheers, I thought if the springs were all the same brand it would be fine but clearly I was wrong.

Ive got sportlines with an arb and it handles pretty well all though i think my shocks are a bit worn so have used that excuse to buy fk konigsports lol. Get them fitted on thursday, which btw im thoroughly looking forward too.:approve:

How low will you go with Koni-Koni & Koni-Eibach?

Is the combination Koni-Eibach front -45 and back -30?

I would say is pretty much the same drop..

I can measure my wheel to arch tomorrow if you have anything to compare too?

Keep in mind the the Koni are not really "adjustable". The adjusment is there to compensate the wear, if you turn them very stiff from new they're not going to last for long.
I say they are the perfect match for Eibach sportline springs, for a fast road setup. For track use look somewhere else.

Where is this information from? :S

I loved my Koni adjustable dampers on the Clio, Koni dampers and Koni springs i didnt notice any difference in ride height. Apex springs made a big difference in ride height compared to Koni springs visually

A well known tuner who fitted A LOT of them to many different cars. He told me that if you fit the koni and turn them to the stiffest setting they last a few thousand miles.

I wouldn't run different shocks front and rear.

I'm considering koni dampers to the rear with OE dampers up front on sportline springs? would you still advise against different dampers front to rear as it's on a 182 with cup packs so won't fit the front

I just can't see the issue with this, they're are "different" anyway even if they have the same name on, if they're adjustable you will be making them "more different" and we as drivers are different so want different ride qualities.

Side to side is frowned up on but I have done a track day with odd rear shocks and had no problems, but front to rear, I'd love to hear the reasons behind the advice not to.

Me too. Already have Sportline springs fitted and need new rear dampers. Interested in the Konis but not if I have to buy and replace the fronts as well. Is there anybody that knows about this properly, rather than the BS that seems to be prevalent here?
