On the windscreen in front of the driver is where the highway code say to put them IIRC.

It feels dead light. And the bonnet is like miles up the car. I'm probably gunna cut two holes in it and cable tie it to the front grill bit or something.

But yeh the joke is i have a plastic french box.

E11OOT - Thanks that actually sounds like a good idea!

I have OCD about my paintwork. Im not joking i cleaned these L plates (my bro used them 4 years ago when he was learning) so there was no crap on them to get scratches. I think i will go for bonnet, its just so high up!

Just take them off everytime you've finished, all your mates will end up sticking them in random places on your car scratching the paint to f*ck. We did this to one of my mates who learned to drive first, lucky it was a sh1tty old 106 he didn't care about.

You have an 09 clio gt on l plates!!

did you win the lottery? If i had all the money in the world that is probably the LAST car i would think of buying as a first car!!!

I'd just learn with an instructor tbh. Going out in a car with a person who probably has no driving qualifications other than DSA test will probably just lead to you getting into bad habits and slow you down if anything.

Get stick on ones and put one on the windscreen and one on the rear screen. My brother had magnetic ones and his car still bares a long scratch from when the one on the front slid all the way up the bonnet when he was driving.

When i was learning and went out in my own car i used to tie the front one on my string, and the rear one i stuck in the rear window

Nice first car btw :)

Front windscreen, Rear window. Leave them in there then, saves having to take them off all the time.

wish i tied the front one on, as mine flew off the bonnet at 60mph which was an inconvenience on a dual carriageway...

People saying learn with an instructor - did none of you ever drive you/your parents' cars about on L plates before you could drive?

Which, to sum up, means you had no faith in your ability to drive. Female?

id stick them inside the front and rear windows, mine used to fly off, and im sure they scratch the metal anyway?

^ Aye. Mum bought and insured it IIRC, therefore it's just a car he drives.

  Works...kind of...

No, not once.

My dad's been driving so long I knew he'd eventually but in and tell me what to do, even though he might be wrong. He's also a VERY bad passenger.

Bad habits die hard etc.

My dad hired a dual control car from Arnold Clark when I was learning. Why f**k his car up when I can f**k someone else's.

yeah all the time, had a fiat cinq before my clio and used to drive it to college in the morning and then home afterwards. Even when I was 16 used to take it around industrial estates with my rents on a sunday afternoon for extra practice :)
