Lacquer Coming Off - 172 Ph2

Hi All,

The lacquer on my front bumper has started to come off quite badly.

What can I do to stop this, can I take it to a garage and get it re-done?

how old is your vehicle ?

the paintwork has a quite a lengthy warranty

Against corrosion maybe but laquer im pretty sure they will not touch

Best bet is to buy a laquer touch up pen and touch in round the edges to stop it spreading ultimately it will needs repainting

It is an 02 reg, registered in July 2002.

Always sounds a bit iffy when lacquer/ paint starts to peel . Sounds like a previous repair that's started to fail tbh .

Paintwork warranty only lasts 3 years , its the anti corrosion warranty that is a lengthy one being 12 years . Even that is subject to conditions i.e. having the car " always " serviced at a Renault dealership and stamped in the service book.

Sounds like you'll need to get it down to a bodyshop and get them to check it out . It might just need a wet flatting until the loose lacquer is removed then relacquered .
