my bro's 182 needs a new lambda are they both the same?

Think one has a longer wire than the other iirc.

They are the same but one has a longer cable than the other.

yep, the PRE CAT has longer wire, the POST CAT has a shorter wire.
There is a 2nd hand one on Ebay for £23 posted.

can you take the old one out and replace with the new on and everthing be ok? or will it need to be diagnosed?

I wouldnt bother with a second hand one. I'd get one from euro car parts or similar, they tried giving me one without a plug on it which needed the plug cut off the old one and soldering on, but they do have them with the correct plug on them.


You really want to clear all the fault codes after fitting it and check if they come back.

u might need to erase the fault code after. but is it a o2 heater circuit fault for a start and is it the first time it has poped up on diagnostics ???
