laptop help



doubt anyone can help my laptop randomly freezes or reboots im not sure what's causing it ive check its not down to heat/dust but was wondering if something being logged everytime it happens anyideas of things i can check

my laptop has 2gig of ram a c2d t7200 160gig hdd nvidia go7600 windows 7 home premium 32bit ive had the same problem on vista

Then you can pretty much rule out a software problem.. does it BSOD or just freeze/reboot ?

No logs then.. cause there wasnt a kernel dump or anything.. and like I said I don't think your problem is software related anyway.

I would say your main culprits would be.

1) Power supply
2) CPU/Overheating
3) Possibly faulty ram although this is unlikely
4) Motherboard fault.

with 2 and 4 being the most likely out of them, you can monitor CPU temps in the BIOS so can rule that out. Remove any PCI cards that you can and anything else but the bare minimum to run the PC and see if it still crashes etc.
 
maybe its time to replace her this has been a long term problem but its only recently started again since i did a fresh install of windows and moved from vista to 7 i may see if i can get mem86 an spinrite to work
