Laptop & Internet Connection Options

Apologies for the basic question but I really don't know anything about this kind of thing. And this will be the first of many...

I'm thinking about buying a laptop for use at home but don't have a landline, nor do I have any kind of broadband or Wi-Fi connectivity.

What are my options to connect the new laptop to the internet? Buy a USB connected broadband dongle. Anything else?

Thanks

Cheapest way is probably to upgrade your phone contract to one which allows unlimited data and tethering, then just connect your laptop to your phone.

I work for Vodafone and don't have a contract - work pays my phone bill as long as it's within reason. Tethering isn't possible so unfortunately that option is out :S

If you don't have a wired connection available cable/fiber or dsl/telephone, then a dongle is your only option, seeing as you work for a phone company I imagine you can get a good deal on that ;)
