laptop keyboard problem. help!

not sure if it's broken or not....

my keyboard is behaving as if the funtion key is permanently pressed meaning whenever u use certain keys i get funtions, numbers, symbols etc. for example....

make sense? to type all this i'm having to hold the function key!
