Laptop RAM

Thinking bout upgrading this.

Will any laptop RAM go in my laptop? If not how do i find out what will go in it.

Is it easy to change?

The laptop is a acer.

Tonys email me i can quote for you - just let me know which model it is and how much ram you got in there already and how much you need

Thanx guys,
A mate has dropped some RAM off at mine today (im stuck at work) he said i can have it for my laptop. So just wanna know if it will fit in. Not sure what model my laptop is without looking.

But the prob with it is i keep getting low disc space message come up on it. I havent got that much on there really. The hard drive is split in to a C: and a D: but it only uses the C: for things ive put on it, there isnt really anything on the D:

So move some stuff ont the D drive and make shortcuts.

Otherwise it'll just continue with the annoying pop ups.

Ram will just make programs open quicker etc.

Just run this on my laptop, apparently I've got 256mb of 166mhz (PC2700) and 256mb at 133mhz (PC2100).

For everyday use is it worth replacing the slower chip?

I did move google earth onto the D drive, but it then stopped working so havent moved anything else.

Right, the laptop is a acer Aspire 1691 and the RAM is KTD-INSP6000A/1G

Anyone knw if itwill be ok to use?

No.

Certain laptops are fussy as to which ram they accept.

Also matters if its DDr1 or DDr2.

As far as i know, the 1691 accepts DDR2 ram only.

The chances are it will have 2x256MB DDR2 533 in it already. So to upgrade it you will need a 512MB DDR2 533 module then either a 256MB module or a 512MB depending how much you wanna spend. If it has 1 x 512MB module then you only need one extra module to upgrade.

I sell 256MB DDR2 533 Ram for £29inc VAT and 512MB DDR2 533 for £59inc VAT

Its not really going to make that much difference. The next move for you would be to upgrade to 2 x 512MB modules. Then you'll see a difference.

On the palm of your laptop you will have a sticker (by the touch pad) on there it will have the ram amount and type....or have you removed that sticker?

will look like this:

Yeah i know what size is in there, but how do i know if its DDr1 or DDr2, i also have some RAM here (not in a laptop) how do i know ifits the same as what i have. Or if it will work in my laptop.
