Laptop trouble

  ph2 172
Hey All

I had a message yesterday stating that the boot manager is missing from my laptop ( i have xp and vista installed on 2 different partitions). I have fixed the bootloader but now when starting either of the OS's i get the message about autochk not being found?

I have booted into vistas recovery command line section and can see that i have 4 active partitions on one volume, WINRE on C:???? Vista on unknown XP on unknown and 74gb storage on unknown?

Do I have to assign these partitions drive letters, if so how?

This was all caused by partition magic buggering up!

Cheers

Presumably your hard drive had a hidden recovery partitoin which is probably what WINRE is.

Sounds like your FAT is gone.
