Laptop

My laptop is screwed. kept turning itself off cos it overheats and out of frustration the other night I punched the s**t out of it and the thing won't turn back on.

So i'm in need of a new laptop.

I have upto £500 to spend on one.

Not sure what to get as i'm not knowledgeable on computers. Want best spec for money obviously but don't want to get ripped off by PCWorld etc.

Where shall I buy from and what shall I buy?

It's not to play games on, it's simply for mp3s, internet really.

look at the dell range, im sat on a inspiron 6400 in the garden right now, with 1gb of ram and 60gb hd, its class.

got it for 428 with vista home premium (instead of basic) and a few extras

2gb of Ram!! Got one of these at christmas when they were still doing the 1gb at the same price. Good laptop IMO
