Lee (you fookin' geek)

;)

Have you any experience of these modular PSUs?

http://www.ultraproducts.com/product_details.php?cPath=42&pPath=296&productID=296

I have always HATED the regular old mess of cables. I've stumbled upon these whilst geeking it up. What's your knowledge of them in general? As a fellow geek, a sex filled PSU like this where I only use the connectors I need, and they are already sleeved and wrapped, gets me hard :D

My current build is about looks as well as performance and I'd defo consider something like this to add. Are they any good in your opinion? A couple of online reviews suggest they're the shzznit

Nice ;)

Personally I just shut the lid and forget about the mess inside - so long as it isn't too messy. Just as long as the picture on the screen is pretty and it's fast :D

I've used a couple of the Antec modular PSUs in the past. They didn't save as much clutter as I'd hoped, but I suppose they are a little better. And I don't know why they've made the ATX lead detachable? I suspect you might need that and hence plug it in!

P.S. I'm not Lee

Not an option with a side window and all sorts of bling LED shizznit inside. I can tidy this build up nicely, and my PSU is already of very high quality, but I am considering one of these sluts as a future toy uphrade in a few weeks :D

I have one of these - http://www.cluboverclocker.com/reviews/power/hypergroup/Hiper580/index.htm

the wiring is only slightly tidier as i still needed to use nearly all of the leads, they run very quiet aswell, i have never had any power issues since fitting this PSU, the only downside i have found is when you have the modular leads plugged in it makes the whole unit very long, with it in my Lian-Li case i had to remove the top exhaust fan as the knurled cable connectors were fouling on the fan casing and would not line up properly.

Thats news to me dude. AFAIK the 7950 doesnt use too much power at all? PSU requirements these days seem as far fetched as Renaults power outputs. With PSUs, peek loads, constant loads etc. etc. are far more imporatant than headline grabbing claims.

If my existing Globlawin 520w PSU doesnt power my new system I'll eat my hat :D

The 7950 AFAIK uses far less power than a 7900GTX in SLI, so unless the SLI boys are using diesel generators...

I used a modular one with my old rig. I had a windowed Akasa and watercooled it so wanted it as neat as possible.

But as stated DIDNT declutter as much as I would have liked were good though!

I've been using mainly Enermax Liberty PSUs recently as they are modular and go up to 620w. I've also got a few Acasa 650s and a couple of Tagan 900w Turbo Jets: http://tagan.com/

The Tagan PSUs have so many cables off them they're a real pig to get installed in some cases.
