Leopard - Installed

My copy of Leopard arrived today at 14:30. It's all installed now and I really like it.

Time machine is fantastic, as is spaces, overall the whole O/S looks and feels so good. The new search interface is funky just like itunes

What's the difference between the new and old search?

Have you got Time Machine backing up to an external drive?

The new search is like using itunes...with the picture of the items your searching through. You can then you open the item in a preview pane to view and check its what your after.

Yes I have backed up to a external drive.

Ah I know what you mean, think it's called Quick View, similar to Cover Flow but you can play movies and view documents from it.

Been told by the guy in Apple that when he does it, he backs everything up and does a full wipe and install!?

I've done a full install on a blank HD for my Powermac G5, and I'm doing an upgrade on my Macbook as I type this.

I did a fresh install partly as I'd had the original installation since December 2004 and there was a lot of stuff installed that I didn't use, and partly to get that new Mac feel

It's very zippy now, but I've got loads of stuff to setup again.

How did you do that? wipe everything first?

I just ran the upgrade after backing up anything important - all seems fine.

Sod wiping it and re-installing all the apps again etc after.

It's installed on my iMac but they really need to sort Mail which is slightly s**t since the update. Lots of people reporting problems with it on the Apple forums.

Yeah im getting leopard tommorow.
Should be a good upgrade from tiger
