Lightweight Rad for 1*2

sort of price mate? They fit straight back in or adjustment needed? whats the weight difference?

ours were custom, short and thicker (to compensate for height loss)

when you say ours? you mean Yozza? :S Do you know the specs? And if they are still being made?

made to order, go to pro alloy direct or maybe try alisport, send them an OE rad, bish bash bosh new ali one arrives, bank account - £400

Ouch, didn't expect it to be that much :S Is there any other alternatives? I think Burp put one into his 172, but can't remember where it was from/off?

most pattern parts are alloy, there is feck all weight saving btw.

1-2kg at most, looks elsewhere

Theres a Nissens one on ebay for less than £100 iirc

Search for Renault Clio 2.0 as it won't bring it up on 172/182

would have thought several of the ITB suppliers such as GDI/Ktec/yozza would offer a smaller rad alternative as an options to go with their kits. cant see a beneficial weight saving though tbh

^^can't see that one mate? You got the direct link?

Every little helps ben ;) Think burps was 3kg lighter from memory. Looking at a few cheap weight saving things for this summer. Mini project for an excuse to get outside.

my old 106 had a nissans rad. cost me £60 quid new and must have weighed about 5kgs tops! alloy core and very light.

if you dont need an odd sized one just do that.

Nah mate.

The Nissens one is a straight swap and mounts onto all the OE brackets.....

So the advert says anyway!

Apparently Lighter & More effective at cooling, or am i just another one fooled by the sales tactics - lol

The OEM item is plastic and ally.......:S

And when your moving at speed, the rad isnt actually working that hard at shifting the heat.

we deal with nissens quite a lot through work - seem to be a decent enough rad.

Didnt say they weren't.
Just thought his original question was about a smaller/lighter rad thats all.
