Limewire vs. Azueus

  CLIOpatra, L22EE W™
Ok,

I mainly use Limewire to download my lost episodes, but have been downloading the wrong episodes, because of muppets renaming the files.

I find that Limewire downloads these episodes quite quickly. However I am currently downloading Lost S02E16 via Azureus @ 30-40 kB/s, even thought I am on a 1 meg BB connection.

Anyone else experience this, or is it something to do with my settings?

Limewire is ok for the odd mp3 but shockingly useless at anything else.

God help anyone who downloads "mary poppins" for her kids and ends up with "Mary pops it in"

Also, have you noticed that if you use Limewire or Azureus - your Internet browser SLOWS right down. The pages load as if your on dial-up. Or sometimes, just a little faster than dial-up!

Limewire sucks ass I don't even have it installed anymore. Suppose if I really wanted a single mp3 I'd probably put it back on.

For torrents I use BitComet. By far the best client I've used and gets me the fastest download speeds. A lot of people have moaned about it being banned onf so many trackers but so far I've not run into a problem and I don't use DHT or Peer Exchange in it anyway.

Azureus just hogs resources and I'm not a great fan of Java.

ok, i think this is wha most peoples problem is unless you have tweaked it. The reason you have this is that your upload speed is not capped and you are uploading way too fast and your internet will really have a major problem.

Best is to limit your upload to say 170Kb/s for a 2mb line and then limit uploads to 5Kb/s and you shouldn't notice any difference in your internet speed then. While you may have a 2mb download speed on BB you only still get a 256 KB/s upload speed which is swamped if you let Bit torrent upload as fast as it wants.

hope that helps.
