Linking xbox, TV and surround sound all into one.

Its got me confused this one ive just bought a 5.1 surround with DVD inbuilt and from the back it looks like this

My Xbox been an only one of around 2 years doesnt have an optical out!

If i was to leave my xbox running through my TV via the component cables like it always has been running HD.

Then HDMI my surround sound to the TV and link it all with an optical cable from my TVs optical out to the surrounds optical in so it can run the TV through all the speakers.


Is this the correct and only way i have of doing it?

Or is there another way?

The optical out on the xbox isn't actually on the xbox. It's on one of the cables.

Thank you, I didnt realise it was there.

Still need to get some leads, I'l HDMI the surround DVD to the TV then optical the xbox to the surround system which should work a treat.
