Okay so I'm sharing this with my mum but she says as soon as I've passed my test i can do what i want with it modifying wise. It's an '09 Clio GT

So the car is picked up Tuesday. I'm Just wondering if anyone can tell me:

Wheel fitment, lowering options, and what the front and rear speaker sizes are (I'm guessing 5.25inch ?). The rest of the info i can get from work (Halfords)

All help much appreciated :D

Seen this Clio GT on friday, the wheels are far too small on it!

Have no idea why its got GT badges, weighs a fooking ton!

Wierdly the only GT badge i could find was on the seats. It's a warm hatch, designed to compete with the Fiesta Zetec S. I really wanted to put 197 wheels on it and lower it. Weird how they are different studs? Hmm. Simular wheels are things like team dynamics pro race 1.2's and i can get them in anthrecite?

What baffles me about the gt is that it has 18 more bhp than my c2, and it has a 6 gear box yet is pretty much the same speed. It does weigh a bit more but not that much.

Also why is it group 7 when mine is group 6. The difference between 6 and 7 seems the biggest jump for me when doing dummy quotes.

I think renault missed a trick with this, they should of stripped it of features to save weight, fitted a slightly less powerful engine (the weight should compensate for this) and fitted some security to reduce insurance and would then have the only low insurance group warm hatch available to buy new that new drivers can afford to insure on their own.

Yeh i do agree with you there jenic, they kind of did that in some ways. I mean, they took the 1.6 and put it in the Twingo GT and reduced the power slightly. However as i said the Clio is a rival to the Fiesta Zetec S, the Ford is insurance group 8. So at least it beats that :)

Here's it sitting in the showroom, because my mum needs a new car before Wednesday we didnt order one just bought the showroom model. In the end we payed about £12,495 and its RRP for our one (with metalic paint) is £13,895. So a nice discount :)

I like how they smoothed off the corners of the rear but I'm really not suire on that tail pipe design. I have to admit to liking those alloys though!

Haha the Ford Dealer literally ran out of the showroom and offered a £2000 discount on the Zetec S if we bought it that day.

To be fair, i REALLY wanted that Zetec S, but i have to share the car with my mum and she hated the DayGlow yellow and checkboard roof :p This ford garage i went too have a reputation for pushy sales though. The Renault garage down the road were much nicer.

Great car. But learn to drive it before messing about with it!

Enjoy the fact you've got a brand new car for a first car. Seriously lucky dood

Yeh i seriously am chuffed with it. A lot of people calling it slow. But it's the quickest thing i can get insured on! Been driving the car on private land. So nice to drive. Pulls well even though we haven't taken it over 4000 rpm. I feel real confident driving this thing which is good for a car to learn/take my test in.

if it was lower, or had 17" wheels would look better. but the colour of the wheels and mirrors (especially with malta blue paint) is what i love :)
