locked door....

strange thing happened over the weekend in the dci,

basically the back passenger door has decided to lock itself shut....ie it cannot be opend from inside or out??.... now i thought somebody has put the child lock on but the door should have still opened from the outside

the door lock moves up and down and the handle opens/closes but no movement in the door? any ideas before i have to book it in to be fixed? anybody has a similar prob?

Get someone to hold the handle up while you climb in the back and give it a good kick! Only a joke of course. But how strange is that!

has the car taken any kind of shunt, or even just the door, perhaps caught in the wind and thrown open ? door could be twisted just enough for the lock to be to tight to open...

no shunts of any sort, car was purchased new by ourselves.... not had the wind incident either.....

be interesting to see how the dealers manage to fix this!

Stuck mechanism, my valver does the same sometimes - it needs lube on the locking mechanism - problem is, without getting the door open, it becomes rather a difficult process!
