Look What My Brother Bought Yesterday....

B*stard! :D Good price and history? And how long before he falls into financial oblivion modding it? ;)

But brings the question to mind - Are we non-clio owners allowed to have honorary Cliosport stickers on our cars?!

Its quick.....very quick, and handles so well.

It took him 2 years to let me drive his R5 GTT so I dont think Ill be driving this anytime soon!

He got it at a very good price with FSH. Completly standard at the moment and has only 22,000miles on the clock (N reg)

And the looks you get while driving it are unreal. We popped into Halfords on the way home to go see my mate and half the staff came out to have a look!

One wasnt sure if it was real til we opened the bonnet!;)

Is that a Lux one then, with the smaller turbo? With only 27k it must have cost a bit:eek: Looks sweet!

i beat him from 2nd gear, didnt post on the forum though cos i know what its like on here now!

I love them - and will own one someday!! most people know how fast they are as std these days;)! Paddy you are certainly within touching distance of one so I cant see why you didnt post about it!:D In fact looking at the times a lot of us on here could scare a cossie if not beat a std one!

Autocars Test Figures (Std Lux Mdl)

0-60 in 6.3 secs

0-100 in 17.9 secs

30-70 6.5 secs

1/4 miles 15 secs

What? Seriously? Thats the stats for a Std. Escort Cossie? The 30-70 and 100mph is about the same as the feckin Williams. Are those the stats for the smaller turbod model?

Yeah from Autocar - Ive posted both sets on Paddys thread in Racing - the thing is they are very easy and cheap to tune (to a point). I buy autocars old tests to give me a review for the cars im planning buying.

If I saw that on the road and knew it was standard it would be lunch time:D You might say oh but its easy to mod but modding that car is a good way of loosing ££££s on the mods and also the market value of the car.

Looks sooooo smart tho! Love those wheels, one of the best standard wheels you can get IMHO.

  Nissan R35 GT-R

You must remember that the first Cosworth engine Ford uses was intended for F1 use. The block was not quite reliable enough, so Ford were stuck with an engine they invested a fair sum of money into, and had a load of Sierra chassis lying around. This is how the first of the Ford/Cosworths came about.

What Im trying to say is that an engine intended for F1 use must cope with a circa 600bhp. Under the bonnet of that car lies one hell of an engine, and can make far more respectable figures for very little cost in comparison to other cars. Its very strong.

Lovely car mate - respect to the Cosworths. :D

I think a 172 would have a good chance against a standard cossie.. but as soon as the cossie get so much as a little tweek to the engine the 172 has no chance..

Oh and a Cossie should be the only car to carry a whaletail on the back.. everything else looks stupid.

Strongly agree - lol

Yeah they aint meant to be that quick.

My mates got a scooby and on the 1/4 mile the scoobys and evos were pissin all over cossies. Even his mates 350bhp was gettin pissed on.

I think they are mint though. Prefer em to a scooby anyday. Just look better IMO.

Sounds a mint car that too. There are some right sh*tters out there. Worth takin ur time lookin at em till u find a guden. Looks like he has anyway.

I dont think those figures are very accurate. I know the cossie has a 5.7s 0-60 and the 1/4mile is in the mid 14s somewhere!

It was the autocar road test figures I think Tom - if they are like clios they may get quicker as they get more run in. I know 5.7 is Fords figure.

what a minter!

always wanted one,

theres 1 on ebay with 10k from new !! mallard grn lux on a k reg same owner from new & completley untouched !
