Looking for 32" of pleasure

Afternoon Geeks. Looking for a decent 32" TV. I dont want CRT and i dont want a projector so looking at plasma or more likely LCD. I've heard the Sony Bravia's are supposed to be good but any suggestions would be appreciated.

Sony Bravia is good, but I preferred the Samsung personally... all the panels are still only made by LG and Samsung, so it's worth findind out who made the Sony one, if of course you can live with the styling differences, as some sets look crap... like the Panasonic's. Best value by far I have found is the R series Samsung 32", it's listed at £900 on www.freemans.com, but IF this is your first ever order from them you get 20% off, so it works out at £720 for one of the best looking and best quality sets available. Also, if you register on www.quidco.com you get paid for making on line purchases and freemans are on their list, so it actually only costs £685.

If you unsure about using quidco have a look on AVForums about them, basically when you use google or whatever to find a site, (for example Tesco's) they pay google a redirection fee ONLY if you then purchase off that site. So, I go on quidco and search for Tesco and they send me their approved link to Tesco, so I then buy say a stereo and say 5% of that would go to google now goes to quidco... but, unlike google who pocket the money quidco give it straight back to you in voucher form or whatever you want. I have them put money into my paypal account and from buying a 40" LCD and an Xbox 360 and few accessories I saved £150 on the TV and £50odd on the 360 and bits...

i get the feeling i'm going to have to take a trip to a few places and see these things running. Only thing that pisses me off with buying TV's audio stuff is alot of places dont have them set up right (too much colour or contrast or not enough, s**t signal being split 50 ways or playing a pixar movie with not natural colours in it to judge picture on) and the stupid variants that you have to watch out for. You'll go in looking for a model thats been rated in a magazine armed with a model number and only be able to find the same number but with different last couple of letters and no bugger working in the shops can tell you the difference whether its something trivial like an extra input on the back or something more important.

Don't just go for the biggest TV you can afford, it's got to 'fit' in the room it's going in. With LCD TV's, if you go too big you won't get a very good picture.

32WLT66 for me, chuffed to bits with it and had it a couple weeks now.

I got one of these http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/106962 the picture quality is good only real problem with it i found is the speakers are pretty crap but i had a seperate 5.1 system with floor standers anyway so not like the speakers were a big issue.

But the same TV with a Marantz badge on the front sells for double that and it is literally just the name on the front thats changed. Also gets good reviews on a lot of forums it seems.

lol unlucky.

Not bothered about a proper 1080p tv at the moment tbh don't think there are any games that utilise that resolution yet?

you realise very few tv's actually support 1080p 50/60 and then not below about 43"

All been around the 42" mark from what ive seen. I just know if im whacking out a good 1.5k+ on a tv i want something that isnt gonna have to be replaced when a 1080 game comes out.
u know how it is... u may not use it... but its good to know u have it ;) how often do you drive 140mph in your clio? but its good to know it can right.. ;)

dansta the only ones that i know that can really well and truly support all 1080p styles is the sony x series thats 46" and £3999

tosh is 1080i 50 and 60

tbh you dont really need anything more for the forseable future fark all will output at the refesh rates supported by 1080p.

that price was sony price so not supprised its high hehe i know someone who can get sony much cheaper than that tho much much cheaper :) sony is overpriced tho
