Looking for V6 255

Hi, not sure if this belongs here or in wanted but im looking for a 255 V6 and wondered if anyone knew of a main dealer with any used ones in stock preferably around midlands or north of England, Ive seen two but they are in Pool, so looking a bit closer to home near Shropshire

cheers

Andy

PS has anyone used dealer in Telford are they any good ?

Hi Andy,

I was looking for a second-hand 255 last month and saw the 2 in Poole. I rang the dealer straight away and they were sold even then. I rang round loads of dealers and they all said the same thing - that V6s are very rare and because they are so specialist, they dont generally buy them in.

If you want one, you are probably going to have to widen your search nationally, and look at private cars too. As soon as you see one, ring up to check its still for sale. Most that were advertised in Autotrader last month were already sold...

I would suggest you also contact your local dealer and get them to look around the country for one on your behalf - I did this and they put me in contact with a guy who was selling his after 4 weeks. Needless to say I bought it.

BTW - are you keeping the 996?

Good luck.

Cheers,

Tim.

cheers Tim, 996 is sold but its not going for a couple of weeks so i was just looking what was avaliable but if they are that hard to find i will take a couple of days next week and as you say go a bit further and maybe look private and put a deposit on something

I phoned the dealer at dinner time today and i think ive answered my own question about the telford dealer said they would call back in 5 mins im still waiting

Thanks for links Stu the second one is also in autotrader

Cheers

Andy

The Telford dealer does actually come with a very good rating, Telford_Mike has used them forever (or so it seems) and theyve given a good server to him constantly as far as I know, maybe just a bit slow in getting back to people (maybe theyre really busy in the dealership? :-S )

I bought our 1.2 16v clio second hand from them, and had nothing but troubles. The one in Shropshire has generally tended to give better service and have a wider range of cars - but thats just my opinion.

Last time I was down in bham, they had a V6 255 in the show room - maybe worth giving them a shout and see if its for sale/if its still there?

There is an absolutely stunning V6 demonstrator at the huuuuge new Platinum Renault in Trowbridge, Wiltshire (just up the road from me), seen it out on the road once and it looks great. I was there today getting some alloys and it was still sat just outside the main doors. Obviously thats not local to you, but its the sort of car you should expect to travel a considerable distance for if you want one badly.

It has one of the I.D paints so its not going to be cheap (think its Acid Yellow or something, but I call it Lime Green, certainly the only one Ive ever seen in that colour)

I would like to use the telford dealer as they are only about 20 miles away but they dont give you much confidence as a new customer when they cant be bothered to return calls, they are now closed and still no call
