hi all.
A family member has lost the key to the 182.
What's the cheapest and easiest way of getting another key? Also do the door locks and petrol cap etc have to be changed?
Do I have to go direct to Renault to solve this ?
Thanks for your help
James
You can get a auto locksmith out to make you a key an then programme it to the car.
I have Renault key programming software but not the key cutting kit. You can get the key cut code off Renault main dealer an just have it cut. You would then need the plip coded to the car for the immob to work lock/unlock and start.
If you only had one key, and it's now lost, how are they going to copy the key blade? They need a key to copy.
Your options are go to Renault and get a new key, or replace all the locks, petrol cap & ignition barrel with second hand set with key/s, then get an auto locksmith to program you a new fob/s, then swap the blades from the second hand set into the new fob/s.
No Renault have a programme called ICM which tells you all of the vehicles details like key cut code and build data etc. You don't need to order one through Renault even though they might tell you that.
