Lost the locking wheel nut adaptor...

  1998 BMW e46 323i
It's not an oem locking wheel nut set and I have a slow puncture on the rear... I'm in Warrington, does anyone know a place that'll sort it for me without a remortgage? Cheers, john

easy mate

get a socket that is slightly smaller than the locking wheel nut

Hammer it on

then you can just take it off with your ratchet

N.B.

you will probably damage the socket and/or locking wheel nut during this. You shouldn't damage your wheel though :)

just need to get the fucker off to fix the slow puncture... can't believe I've lost the bloody thing after 4 years of keeping it in the exact same place... Will try hammering a socket on to it tomorrow, only thing is it's effectively round, so not sure if a socket will even grip it...

as I say, if you use a slightly smaller socket, it kinda makes its own shape around the locking nut if it's stronger metal. Every socket I have tried on a locking nut has been stronger metal :)!
