I had a problem where my exhaust seemed louder and performance was down. Anyway, checked everything on the exhaust - was all OK. Checked lots of other stuff and no issues. Then I opened my airbox....the ITG filter was Fully Saturated with oil, and it had been dripping down and there was a layer on the bottom of the airbox. It wasn't just any oil though, really sticky tar like oil which "strung out" as you touched it and pulled away. I've had to wash the filter 4 times and its still full of this tar stuff!
So, I put the standard filter back in and all the issues went away so obviously the engine was being starved of air (no way air was getting through any part of the filter!).
Any idea's what this stuff is? Filter has only been in for 4 months! I know you can get the oil-in-filter thing but this definitly wasn't normal. Maybe bad oiling by ITG out of the factory?
