low reving problem

Got a 2002 (52 plate) 1.6 Dynamique+, its done just over 13k miles. Not sure if there is a problem or not but seems to be reving when ticking over quite low. If I leave it just running straight after starting it up it can down as low as abour 200-300.

Any comments appreciated.

alternator belt mate - its probably loose - take it renault and the y will gladly tighten it up for ya - that should fix it - happens all the time.

had this problem, renault sorted it with new spark plugs, their diagnostic machine picked up a fault, all covered under warranty, so take it down the dealer and book it in!
