in a large car spares place the only stats i could get were smaller in overall diameter, is it definitly a 5 turbo stat? 82? in the end i replaced mine with a brand new OE williams one but it still runs hot all the time, and because i replaced the rad fanm switch the fan is coming on all the time, i tried a 82 stat that was a few mm smaller and it didt sit tight and the water got round the edge and mangled the gasket.
Ive got a low temp fan switch but was advised against getting the low temp thermostat, as I was told the ecu will think the engine has not warmed up properly so will keep the mixture slightly rich.
Does anyone have any problems with the low temp thermostat?
anyways the stats are available from reno if u have problems fiding one. reno themselves make this stat and are known to use them but im not sure where, maybe it was used in countries that were hotter than france, i dont know
mine runs at 1/4 on temp reading and only really heats up when in trafffice where the fan will cut in early, works a treat for me and car seems to like it too. cooler running valver can only be a good thing
