Lowering a 1.2

A friend of mine asked me for advice on lowering his sons 1.2 '04 plate Clio.

I don't really know a great deal about 1.2's so I thought I'd drop the question in here...

He lives in the midlands and wants to pay someone to lower the car for him, he also wants to know which are the best springs, and where is the best place to buy them from.

Obviously, budget is a big issue as the lad is still a teen... so I'm guessing coilovers are out of the question!

Any thoughts or advice would be much appreciated! :)

I'm getting my 1.2 lowered soon on V-maxx coilovers for £315.
