lowering mk1 RT

Car  Clio MK1
I have 16s on the car 205/45 tyres. just wanting to know how low a can go with out rubbing or any problems, was thinking of 55mm spax springs. is this to much or should i go for 40mm ???

Well if you want to lower your car that much by springs alone youll be replacing your shockers every couple of months id say maximum lowering by springs alone would be 30-35 mm especially as you have 16's
I have a mk1 RT aswel and lowering by 35mm and adjusting the splines on the rear with my 15's looks nice, just gets rid of them huge gaps above the wheel to the wing

Hope this helps!

If you wwant to lower it 55mm it seems to be the case that you need to be running 15's with low profile tyres, so 16's would scrub like a b**ch.
