Lowering

  ff 182

Just bought some 50mm lowering springs for my valver from BB Performance how many spines will i have to go on the torsion bar.

Just measure how high the hub is from the centre of it to the ground, then remove both torsion bars with a scissor jack under one of the hubs and raise it 50mm and check again then knock both the Torsion bars back in (grease the splines first so it is easier to get out again later) with a upside down socket or a lump hammer then voila one -55mm car!

Thats all i did but only -25mm as i have 17s on.

whats a scissor jack smokey, got a pic of one? as me and a mate are gonna attemp the torsion bar sometime, and i need to know what to use to remove the bar.

cheers

approx 20 splines.use the splines to double check and find the torsion bar fitting point.it is made so it will only properley fit/slide in at one position.adjust the axle by meassuring it/jacking it up and then move the torsion bar 20 splines around from its original position and then it will slot straight in.

A scissor jack is the standard renault jack mate!!

You really dont need to count the splines!! Its as easy as i said!

Just measure the gap from centre of hub to the ground, mine originally was 115mm so i jacked it up to 140mm knocked both torsion bars back in half way and lowered the jack under the hub and remeasured just to make sure it was ok then banged the torsion bars home!

As jay said they only go in one way so you wont have any probs!

Is piece of piss, i could do it again in an hour or less and may as i wanna slam it some more but it scrubs already with a -25mm drop at the back! I am running 17s thou!

if you move the torsion bar around the number of splines i quoted you will find its fitting position straight away(after you have jacked up the axle of course).when i do them i meassure the distance/jack it up as you said but use the splines to find the torsion bar fitting position easier and to double check i have lowered it to where i want+have got both sides the exactly the same.
