I've not used the newest Parallels though...
 
I bought Parallels 3... used the trial of 4.

Certainly on my Mac Mini, Fusion is quicker.
Parallels pretty much locks the machine and makes it unusable (only 1GB RAM) but Fusion worked much better and kept things usable.
 
Bootcamp is your best option if you intend on running more demanding programs on windows needing a better processing speed. As parallels runs both OE's simultaneously.

I bought fusion just before christmas when it was on offer (half price iirc).

Not used it yet though, maybe I should install something on it.

Fusion is very good, MBP with OSX, XP, and ubuntu. I use boot camp if I need all the process power for xp and its application.
