Machine Polisher £13 in Aldi

Just saw a mains powered machine polisher in my local Aldi and am tempted.

Heard it can give a fantastic finish with less effort than doing it by hand.... and can you REALLY go wrong for £13?

Saw it in the Coventry store on Radford road on my way home last night, they had a fair few left.... might pop and get one tonight and give it a go over the weekend......

Anyone bought one of these?

Without seeing this I'd say don't bother, you'll probably just inflict more damage on your paintwork with it than cure.

Doubt it will do any damage, its just the same as the halfords polishers I would have thought, will just apply or remove polish rather than remove swirls etc.

Will more than likely inflict swirls TBH.

How much are the good ones then? how much saving are you gettin?
Good ones, depends on what you're after and whether you buy a bundle or not. But minimum £80, with f**k all, and maximum...well the sky's the limit when you come to detailing and products. Saving? I've no idea what you mean.

It depends on what you're after. If you are wanting this to just polish your car or buff it off, don't bother. Continue by hand as you'll get less damage to the paint work and a better finish.

But if you want to get a deep gloss, wet look paint and a mirror finish then you need a machine polisher. Mine cost me £79.95 but that was with no pads, they were extra, and I use the products I already had from doing it by hand.

It will cost mre to use the right equipment and products, but you do pay for what you get.

Ye, this is just for buffing off or applying polish, hense my original comment "Lazy" as it isnt a "machine polisher" in the detailing sense at all, which is obvious really..as its £13...lol.

Can you go wrong with a scouring pad of 10p? Yes.

You need to have good speed control (and a scrap panel to practice on)....just not worth it when re-sprays cost so much.

Cant see why no-one can make decent machine polishers for less than £80 odd! Can get obital sanders cheap nowadays so im sure a decent machine could be made.

Havin a laugh, right?

Porter cable, G220 or Kestrel, nothing else will come close unless you're rather handy with the PC and are ready to move onto a Makita rotary.

They can mate, some people on Detailing World have been and got an Orbital Sander from B&Q for like £23. It's the counterweights that I think is an issue when using it for polishing.

End of the day my DAS-6 is an orbital sander or dual action polisher. Just depends on what pads I fit it with lol.
