So a plug lead upgrade is wortwhile?
What about uprated plugs to match, any particular brand/model?

IMO it won't make bugger all difference

i'm awaiting Nick's response
I always thought they were a bit of marketing hype really but you guys are the experts.
I thought plugs made a difference though (slightly).

I could be wrong but i think the standard leads on a 172/182 get really hot and break up,my standard leads were starting to break up after 5000 miles,i think the magnecor hold the heat out better due to the material,i had mine off nick very good price too

Very expensive and the quality is not as good as OE ones, they have no upsides IMHO. Ignore the manufacturer marketing its hype, all the people i know of that bought them went back to OE after a few months as they broke down an caused misfiring.

Ah so nick is perhaps performing some self-promotion?

i very much doubt it nick never advertises things,i´ve had magnecor leads on the last three cars ive had and never had a problem with them, the leads get very hot on the 172 as they sit on the rocker cover iirc

i had them on my 19 16v it made bugger all difference, there is no such thing as uprated plugs, well, nothing worth the money they want for them, just go with some NGK plugs, cant go wront, and none of thise triple electrode b****cks, just single electrode NGK and your are sorted.

Hands up and please contact me, anyone I have sold a set of Magnecor leads to that have failed in service.
Hands up if you have had a set of Magnecor leads and not had any problems.

does anyone know if a custom set of leads from magnecore is gonna break my bank balance?? or are they reasonably priced?

custom makes me think they are gonna be well pricey!

Why bother? when std ones are perfectly good.

I've got the 8.5mm magnecore leads, needed a new set and they were all tweeks had in stock.

Heard VERY good things about them, alot from a bloke who is inot tuning his scoobies etc up, IIRC his mate has a 900bhp (or around that) scoob, which he mapped for him, so i think he knows his stuff

because my engine is running a coilpack from a fiesta so i need custom ends for both sides as the fiesta leads on at the mo arent the best fit on the plugs at all :nono:

if you ring nick he might be able to get you a set custom made for you,

I run them on my Williams (HillPower Service Kit ;)) and they seem Ok.
They are Blue tho, so they win by default :)

This is all very well, but how many people have actually had anything go wrong with the standard leads? Kind of makes them a bit pointless no?
